Two Israeli Soldiers Jailed for Damaging Jesus Statue in Lebanon

Two Israeli soldiers have been sentenced to 30 days in prison for damaging a statue of Jesus Christ during a military operation in Lebanon, according to official sources.

The incident reportedly occurred during a search operation by the Israel Defense Forces in a village in Lebanon. One soldier was seen striking and breaking the statue with a hammer, while another recorded the act.

Footage of the incident later surfaced on social media, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation.

Following an internal investigation, the Israeli military stated that the soldiers’ actions violated military regulations and standards of conduct. As a result, both individuals were handed 30-day prison sentences.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the country’s Foreign Minister also strongly condemned the act.

The military has reiterated that all personnel must strictly adhere to protocols regarding the protection of religious sites and cultural heritage during operations.
