10 Injured in Accident on Southern Expressway

Ten people were injured in a road accident that occurred near the 154th kilometre post between the Beliatta and Kasagala areas on the Southern Expressway.

All injured persons have been admitted to the Tangalle Base Hospital for treatment.

The accident took place when a car carrying employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board from the Panadura area, which was travelling towards Kataragama, collided with the rear of a lorry travelling ahead.

Due to the impact, the lorry reportedly overturned on the expressway.
