Yoshitha Rajapaksa Case Postponed to June 10

The Colombo High Court has postponed the hearing of the case filed against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his grandmother Daisy Forrest under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, until June 10.

The case, instituted by the Attorney General, was taken up today (24) before High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli.

During proceedings, the State Counsel informed the court that a related case has also been filed under a separate case number in another High Court. It was further noted that a revised indictment is to be submitted in that case, and accordingly, an amended indictment may also be required for the current case.

The State Counsel requested a date to report progress on these developments.

Accordingly, the judge ordered that the case be called again on June 10, directing that updates on the progress be presented on that day.
