Former MP Wimal Weerawansa Produced Before Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court

Former Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa, who was arrested today, Monday (25), by the Thalangama Police, was produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court a short while ago.

He had appeared at the Thalangama Police Station this morning to provide a statement regarding allegations that he obstructed police duties at the Battaramulla War Memorial premises on May 18.

Following questioning by the police, he was arrested and later escorted out of the police station.

Subsequently, he was taken to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court and produced before the court, according to reports.
