Former England football captain David Beckham has become the first British billionaire sportsperson, according to the 2026 edition of the Sunday Times Rich List.

The report states that the combined wealth of David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham has reached approximately £1.185 billion.

Beckham is currently a co-owner of the American football club Inter Miami CF, which is valued at around $1.45 billion. He also earns significant income through global brand ambassador roles with companies such as Adidas and Hugo Boss.

Victoria Beckham’s successful fashion business has also contributed substantially to the couple’s overall wealth.

The list also highlights several other high-profile athletes and sports personalities:

  • Bernie Ecclestone – £2 billion (Top position)
  • Lewis Hamilton – £435 million (5th)
  • Rory McIlroy – £325 million (7th)
  • Anthony Joshua – £240 million (8th)
  • Harry Kane and Andy Murray – £110 million each (10th)

Sports promoters Barry Hearn and Eddie Hearn also entered the billionaire category with wealth estimated at £1.035 billion.

Meanwhile, Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of Manchester United, saw his fortune decline by £1.85 billion, reducing his ranking from 7th to 9th place in the overall list.

The 51-year-old Beckham, recently knighted as “Sir,” is being recognized for achieving a major milestone in both sports and business success.
