President Orders Acceleration of Temporary Housing for Cyclone Victims

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed officials to complete the construction of temporary houses for people affected by Cyclone Ditwa Cyclone by the end of May.

This special directive has been issued to expedite relief efforts for those who are still living in temporary camps following the disaster.

Commenting on the matter, Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply Susil Ranasinghe stated that around 20 major temporary camps are currently operating across three districts.

He further noted that approximately 500 families who lost their homes due to the disaster are currently residing in these camps.
