Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath Begins Official Visit to Belarus

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath has begun an official visit to Belarus from today (12) until the 15th.
The visit is being carried out at the invitation of Belarus Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov.
Diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Belarus were established 25 years ago, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this visit marks an important milestone in strengthening bilateral ties.
During the visit, Minister Herath is scheduled to meet Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in the capital city of Minsk.
He will also hold bilateral talks with the Belarus Foreign Minister and meet the Ministers of Education and Health.
In addition, he will participate in a business and tourism roundtable conference organized by the Belarus National Export Centre and deliver an address.
The Minister is also expected to meet Sri Lankan students studying in Belarus during the visit.
Several memorandums of understanding and agreements across multiple sectors are also expected to be signed during the official visit.
