Special Traffic Plan to Be Implemented in Colombo Tomorrow

A special traffic arrangement will be in effect across several parts of Colombo tomorrow (28) in view of the “Walk for Peace” event, the Police Media Division announced.
The event, to be held under the patronage of the President, will conclude with a special ceremony at Independence Square at 4.00 PM.
Affected Areas
From 11.00 AM onwards, depending on the situation, traffic restrictions or diversions may be implemented in the following areas:
- Bandaranaike Roundabout to Borella Junction
- Baseline Road, Maradana Road, Ward Place
- Soysa Roundabout, Lipton Circus
- Dharmapala Mawatha, C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha
- Horton Place, Independence Avenue
- Cambridge Place, Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Library Junction
- Pittala Junction, James Peiris Mawatha
- Muttiah Road, Staple Street
- Roads surrounding Gangaramaya Temple
Public Advisory
Police have urged motorists and the public to:
- Use alternative routes wherever possible
- Plan travel in advance to avoid congestion
Those intending to travel into Colombo city tomorrow afternoon are specifically advised to consider these traffic changes and make necessary arrangements early.
