Constitutional Council Approves Appointment of Justice Yasanta Kodagoda

The Constitutional Council has unanimously approved the appointment of Supreme Court Justice Yasanta Kodagoda as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.

The Constitutional Council met last Friday (22) at the Parliamentary Complex under the chairmanship of Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

During the meeting, the Council considered the nomination proposed by the President to fill the vacancy in the Judicial Service Commission following the retirement of former Supreme Court Justice S. Thurairaja.

As all members of the Council agreed to the President’s recommendation, approval was granted for Justice Yasanta Kodagoda to be appointed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.
