Indian Naval Ship INS Nireekshak Departs Sri Lanka

The Indian Navy vessel INS Nireekshak, which arrived in Sri Lanka on the 21st for a training program, departed the country yesterday after successfully completing its mission. The Sri Lanka Navy bid farewell to the ship at the Colombo Port in accordance with naval traditions.

Accordingly, an official meeting was held at the Western Naval Command Headquarters between the ship’s Commanding Officer Commander Shailesh Kumar Tyagi and the Commander of the Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara.

During its stay, the diving support vessel INS Nireekshak conducted “Mixed Gas Diving Training” in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Navy. This training provided an opportunity for experience sharing and skill enhancement between the diving units of both countries.

In addition, the ship’s crew participated in several events aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two navies, including a yoga session, a volleyball match, and a beach cleanup program. They also visited several culturally significant locations in Sri Lanka during their stay.
