Law Will Take Its Course in Case Involving Monks Arrested with Narcotics

Ananda Wijepala, Minister of Public Security, stated that investigations have been initiated into the incident involving monks arrested with narcotics at Bandaranaike International Airport.
Speaking to the media following an event today (27), the Minister emphasized that all individuals are equal before the law, and that there will be no separate legal standards for different groups.
He further noted that the matter has already been reported to the courts and that necessary legal action will be pursued in due course.
At the same time, the Minister stated that while engaging with the guidance and advice of the Buddhist clergy, authorities will ensure that all required legal procedures are carried out without compromise.
