Norway Princess’s Son Sentenced to Four Years in Prison Over Sexual Offences

Oslo, June 2026 – A Norwegian court has sentenced Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Mette-Marit, to four years in prison after finding him guilty on two criminal charges related to sexual offences.

According to international media reports, the Oslo District Court delivered the verdict after determining that two of the charges brought against the 29-year-old had been proven in court.

Høiby had faced several allegations, including sexual assault and domestic violence. However, only two of the charges were upheld during the trial, leading to the prison sentence.

His legal representatives have reportedly indicated that they plan to appeal the court’s decision.

Høiby was arrested in 2024 in connection with a rape allegation, and the case attracted significant public attention in Norway. The controversy has also had a notable impact on public perceptions of the Norwegian royal family.

The ruling marks one of the most high-profile legal cases involving a member of Norway’s extended royal family in recent years.
