Case Against Diana Gamage Postponed to May 12

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered that further witness hearings in the case filed against former State Minister Diana Gamage be taken up on May 12.
The case, filed by the Criminal Investigation Department on the advice of the Attorney General, relates to allegations that Gamage provided false information to the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to obtain a passport and remained in Sri Lanka without a valid visa.
The matter was taken up today (21) before Colombo Additional Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama, who issued the order to postpone further proceedings.
According to the charges, the alleged offences occurred between July 14, 2016, and November 1, 2020. The case has been filed under seven counts in terms of the Immigration and Emigration Act.
