A student from St. Patrick’s College Jaffna, Jaffna, has been selected as one of seven students representing Sri Lanka at the International Youth Camp organized under the “Schools: Partners for the Future (PASCH)” initiative in Germany.
The student, Thukish, will participate in the international camp organized by the Goethe-Institut, which will bring together approximately 900 students from around the world. The camp is being held in St. Peter-Ording as part of the Sri Lanka–Germany friendship programme.
The event will take place from June 7 to June 27 and will feature a wide range of educational, cultural, and leadership-focused activities designed to foster international understanding and cooperation among young people.
Participants will engage in leadership training programmes, workshops, sports activities, film screenings, cultural exchange sessions, and international culinary experiences where students will prepare and share traditional foods from their respective countries. The camp will also provide opportunities for participants to showcase their cultural heritage and learn about the traditions of other nations.
The programme aims to strengthen leadership, communication, and intercultural skills while encouraging global friendships and collaboration among young people from diverse backgrounds.
Thukish’s selection to represent Sri Lanka at this prestigious international event is considered a significant achievement for both St. Patrick’s College and the Jaffna community, highlighting the talent and potential of Sri Lankan students on the global stage.
