Tilvin Silva Rejects Social Media Claims of Clash at JVP Headquarters

The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Tilvin Silva, has strongly rejected social media reports claiming that a clash had taken place at the party’s Pelawatte headquarters.

Speaking in an interview with a YouTube channel, he described the circulating posts as baseless and “ludicrous attempts” by what he called a bankrupt opposition.

He said that misleading social media content, including false claims that he had been hospitalized following an alleged incident at Pelawatte, was widely shared without verification. He further noted that some opposition politicians even referred to these false reports during press briefings.

“This shows the bankruptcy of the opposition. People will not believe these lies. How can such an opposition run a government?” he questioned.

Tilvin Silva also stated that the opposition is currently unsettled following the successful May Day rallies organized by the National People’s Power (NPP) and ongoing expedited court cases.

“The opposition is left without slogans now. We have proven wrong their claims that the government has lost its mandate or that they can mobilize people against it. We held a record 21 May Day rallies on the same day with massive public participation,” he added.
