All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama Clarifies Suspect in Child Abuse Case Is Not a Moulavi

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama has stated that the individual arrested in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl in Eragama is not a qualified Moulavi.
In a statement issued by the organization, it noted that reports circulating on social media and in some news outlets identifying the suspect as a “Moulavi” are inaccurate.
According to the statement:
- The suspect is not a graduate of any recognized Arabic college and therefore is not a qualified Moulavi.
- He is not a member of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama.
- He is also not a member of the Eragama branch of the organization.
The organization said it was issuing the clarification to ensure that the public receives accurate information regarding the case.
The suspect remains under investigation in connection with allegations involving the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl in the Eragama area. Authorities have stated that legal proceedings and investigations are continuing.
