Tech Liga 2026: IFS A Wins Championship in Penalty Shootout Thriller
Sysco LABS recently brought together Sri Lanka’s technology sector for Tech Liga 2026, a futsal tournament designed to promote connection, collaboration, and camaraderie beyond the workplace.
Held at Club Fusion in Boralesgamuwa, the event featured 14 teams from 10 leading technology companies competing in a full-day tournament.
The competition followed a league-stage format, with teams divided into two groups and playing a total of 42 matches before advancing to the semi-finals and final.
Sysco LABS Team A topped Group A with five wins and one draw, while Sysco LABS Team B dominated Group B with an unbeaten run across all six matches.
In the semi-finals, LSEG B defeated Sysco LABS Team A 3–2, while IFS A secured a convincing 4–1 victory over Sysco LABS Team B.
The final between IFS A and LSEG B ended in a 1–1 draw at full time. IFS A then clinched the championship title with a 5–4 victory in the penalty shootout.
The tournament highlights growing collaboration within Sri Lanka’s technology ecosystem and reflects Sysco LABS’ efforts to strengthen engagement and relationships across the industry.
