World Tamil Research Conference to be Held in Canada Under the Theme “Classical Tamil and Tamils in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”

The World Tamil Research Conference under the theme “Classical Tamil and Tamils in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” is scheduled to be held from October 15 to October 18, 2026, in Toronto.

The conference will bring together Tamil scholars, researchers, professors, and academics from around the world. Research papers have been invited under five major themes.

1. Tamil and Artificial Intelligence

  • Tamil in the AI world
  • Translation studies
  • Creative literature
  • Technical terminology and linguistic innovation

2. Philosophy and Culture

  • Tamil philosophical traditions and thought
  • Tamil arts and aesthetics
  • Tamil social values and feminism
  • Cultural transformation and identity preservation among the Tamil diaspora

3. Economic Thought and Livelihood

  • Tamil economic thought and entrepreneurship
  • Economic contributions of the global Tamil diaspora
  • Livelihoods of marginalized communities
  • Rehabilitation and livelihood of Eelam Tamils

4. Tamil History and Society

  • Ancient Tamil civilization and historical development
  • Tamil educational and medical traditions
  • Language politics and Tamil identity
  • Migration and global Tamil lifestyles

5. Northern and Eastern Economic Development

  • Development of small and medium enterprises in Northern and Eastern Sri Lanka
  • Agriculture, fisheries, water resources, and tourism development
  • Current challenges in human resource development
  • Contributions of global Tamils toward Northern and Eastern development

Researchers interested in presenting papers are requested to submit an abstract of 250–300 words in either Tamil or English before June 10, 2026, through Global Tamil Conference Official Website.

Selected abstracts will be announced before June 30, 2026, while full research papers must be submitted in August 2026.

The organizers have also announced that selected researchers from Sri Lanka and India who qualify for the final stage will receive free airfare and accommodation facilities for attending the conference in Canada.
