Central Bank Monetary Policy Board Meeting to be Held on Monday

Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that the meeting of its Monetary Policy Board will be held on Monday (25).

The Monetary Policy Board is expected to closely review the country’s current economic conditions and make important decisions regarding overnight policy interest rates.

It is reported that special attention will be given to the ongoing conflict situation in the Middle East and the prevailing global economic uncertainties before final decisions are taken.

Inflation in Sri Lanka had remained at a low level of 1.6 percent in February 2026. However, due to rising global energy prices and supply chain disruptions, inflation has now exceeded 5 percent during the second quarter of 2026.

The decisions of the meeting are scheduled to be officially released at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday through the official website of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
