Vijay Meets M. K. Stalin After Assuming Office as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which secured victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election, has formed the government with the support of the Congress, Communist parties, Indian Union Muslim League, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi. Vijay officially assumed duties as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu yesterday.
Following this, the first Assembly session was held today, during which the elected members took oaths as legislators. After the session concluded, Chief Minister Vijay traveled directly from the Secretariat to Alwarpet.
There, he met M. K. Stalin, leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, at his residence.
M. K. Stalin warmly welcomed Vijay with an embrace, presented him with a shawl and bouquet, and conveyed his congratulations.
The meeting was described as a courtesy visit following Vijay assuming office as Chief Minister. Political observers view such gestures as a healthy democratic tradition in Tamil Nadu politics.
Earlier, upon arriving at Stalin’s residence, Chief Minister Vijay was received by Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, party whip E. V. Velu, and former ministers including M. R. K. Panneerselvam, P. K. Sekarbabu, and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
