Inmate Dies After Falling From Building at Welikada Prison

Prison sources say that an inmate at Welikada Prison has died after falling from a building inside the prison premises.

The deceased inmate had been serving a sentence after being found guilty in connection with the murder case of Member of Parliament Amarakirthi Athukorala.

According to prison sources, the inmate was immediately admitted to hospital following the fall, but later died despite receiving treatment.
