Maldives President to Visit Sri Lanka

President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on an official visit this Sunday (03), according to government sources. The visit is seen as a significant step toward further strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

During the visit, several key bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering multiple sectors are expected to be signed.

An agreement is to be signed between the Maldives Ministry of Defence and National Security and General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University to enhance cooperation in training programs, staff exchanges, and joint research.

Another MoU is expected between the Maldives Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development and Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training, focusing on teacher training, school leadership development, and vocational skills enhancement.
