Landslide Warnings Issued for Several Areas in 8 Districts

Landslide warnings have been issued for several Divisional Secretariat divisions in 8 districts due to the prevailing rainy weather conditions.
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) stated that this warning will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. today (12) until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (13).
A Level 2 landslide warning has been issued for the Passara Divisional Secretariat Division in the Badulla District. Residents in the area have been advised to remain highly alert for signs of landslides and be prepared to move to safer locations if necessary.
A Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued for the following Divisional Secretariat divisions:
- Badulla District: Bandarawela
- Kalutara District: Walallawita
- Kandy District: Udapalatha, Pathahewaheta, Yatinuwara, Gangaihala Korale, Akurana, Gangawata Korale, Thumpane, Pasbage Korale, and Panvila
- Kegalle District: Aranayake, Rambukkana, Mawanella, Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya, and Yatiyanthota
- Kurunegala District: Rideegama
- Matale District: Naula, Ambanganga Korale, and Rattota
- Monaragala District: Wellawaya and Badalkumbura
- Ratnapura District: Kalawana, Godakawela, and Ratnapura
The NBRO has further instructed residents in these areas to evacuate immediately if early signs of landslides are observed.
