Two Foreign Nationals Arrested with Fake US Dollars in Habaraduwa

Habaraduwa Police have arrested two foreign nationals for allegedly possessing counterfeit US dollars.
According to police, investigations were launched following a complaint that the two foreigners, who were staying at a lodging facility in the Pilalla area within the Habaraduwa Police Division, had attempted to use 400 fake US dollars for a transaction at a business establishment yesterday (07).
During a subsequent search operation, police recovered an additional 5,200 counterfeit US dollars from the suspects, who were residing in Sri Lanka on tourist visas.
The suspects, aged 26 and 27, are nationals of Tajikistan.
Police stated that the suspects are currently being detained and questioned in connection with the incident.
Further investigations are being carried out by Habaraduwa Police.
