WhatsApp to Stop Working on Older Android Versions

WhatsApp will no longer be supported on smartphones running operating systems lower than Android 6.0 starting from September 8, according to an announcement by Meta.

The company stated that WhatsApp will not function on older versions such as Android 5.0 and Android 5.1. This decision has been made to ensure improved technology features and enhanced security for users.

Meta explained that older operating systems and hardware are no longer capable of supporting new security features and additional functionalities, which led to this move.

Users have already been notified through warning messages. They are advised to upgrade to newer versions in advance to avoid losing their chats, images, and other data.
