Defence Secretary Meets Italian Ambassador

The Italian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Damiano Francovik, met with Defence Secretary Sampath Thuyacontha at the Ministry of Defence premises.

The Defence Secretary warmly welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador, and the subsequent cordial discussions were described as productive.

During the meeting, both sides discussed key bilateral matters of mutual interest, with special attention given to further strengthening relations between the two countries and enhancing cooperation in the defence sector.

Ambassador Francovik also expressed appreciation for the longstanding relationship between Italy and Sri Lanka, reaffirming his commitment to working closely with Sri Lankan authorities to expand cooperation across various sectors.
