Nationwide Special Operation: 576 Arrested

Police have released the daily report of a nationwide special operation conducted to curb crime and drug-related activities, following instructions from the Inspector General of Police.
The operation was carried out across all police divisions, covering stations island-wide, with the aim of arresting suspects linked to criminal activities.
Accordingly, a total of 27,901 individuals were searched yesterday, and 576 suspects were arrested.
Among those arrested:
- 17 individuals were directly linked to criminal activities
- 227 were wanted on arrest warrants
- 158 had open warrants
In addition:
- 115 individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 61 were arrested for reckless driving
- 4,174 individuals were booked for other traffic violations
Police stated that such operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the country.
