Man Arrested for Financial Fraud Using Fake Documents

A suspect has been arrested for allegedly engaging in financial fraud using forged identity documents, including a fake national ID and a counterfeit driving license.

The arrest was made on the night of the 25th in the Belummahara area, under the jurisdiction of the Yakkala Police, following a tip-off.

The suspect, a 60-year-old resident of Gampaha, is accused of defrauding individuals by promising foreign employment opportunities.

Further investigations revealed that an open warrant had been issued against him by the Marawila Magistrate’s Court in connection with these fraud activities.

Police are continuing further investigations into the suspect and related offenses.
