Tamil National Alliance to Send Letter Regarding Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre in Jaffna

The Tamil Arasu Katchi has decided to send a letter to the Indian High Commissioner, Santosh Jha, through the Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Jaffna, Sai Murali, regarding the Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre in Jaffna.

Speaking on the matter, acting party leader C. V. K. Sivagnanam said the issue was discussed at the party’s recent central committee meeting, and concerns were also conveyed during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner.

He stated that the Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre building in Jaffna should be handed over directly to the Jaffna Municipal Council. However, he added that an advisory committee could be formed locally to decide how different floors and sections of the building should be used.

He further noted that any form of joint administrative control over the building should be avoided.

Sivagnanam also said that a meeting will be held next week with the Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Jaffna to clarify the party’s position, after which a formal letter will be sent to the Indian High Commissioner through diplomatic channels.
