The Colombo High Court has issued an arrest warrant to produce a witness in connection with an ongoing case filed against former Minister Johnston Fernando and two others over alleged corruption.
The case relates to accusations that, during his tenure as Minister of Trade, employees of the Sathosa institution were released from their official duties and engaged in political activities.
According to court proceedings, the 12th witness in the case failed to appear before court today (05) to provide testimony.
Following this, Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal ordered the issuance of a warrant for the arrest and production of the absent witness before the court.
Further hearings in the case are expected to proceed once the witness is presented.
