Fuel Price Increase Announced in Sri Lanka

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has announced a revision of fuel prices in Sri Lanka.
According to the announcement, the new prices came into effect from midnight on May 2, 2026.
Based on the revised rates:
- Octane 92 petrol has been increased by Rs. 12, bringing the new price to Rs. 410.00 per litre.
- Octane 95 petrol has been increased by Rs. 15, bringing the new price to Rs. 470.00 per litre.
- Auto diesel has been increased by Rs. 10, bringing the new price to Rs. 392.00 per litre.
- Super diesel has been increased by Rs. 15, bringing the new price to Rs. 458.00 per litre.
These price increases are expected to add pressure on the cost of living for the public.
