Sri Lankan Among Crew of Fuel Tanker Hijacked Off Somalia

A Sri Lankan national is reportedly among the crew members of a fuel tanker hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia, according to international media reports.
The vessel, carrying approximately 18,500 barrels of fuel, was seized by armed individuals on Wednesday night while sailing about 30 nautical miles from the Somali coast.
There were 17 crew members on board, including:
- 1 Sri Lankan
- 10 Pakistanis
- 4 Indonesians
- 1 Indian
- 1 Myanmar national
So far, neither Somali authorities nor the European Union Naval Force, which monitors anti-piracy operations in the region, has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
