No Intent to Impose Power Cuts, Minister Clarifies

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa has stated that the government has no intention of deliberately imposing power outages in the country.
Addressing recent electricity disruptions, he explained that the outages were caused by technical issues in the power distribution system and certain emergency situations.
The Minister assured that corrective measures are already underway to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.
He further noted that several improvements are planned under the 2025–2026 electricity development program, with new initiatives aimed at ensuring a stable and uninterrupted power supply across the country.
