Public State of Emergency Extended Further – Special Gazette Issued

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has issued a special gazette notification extending the public state of emergency currently in effect across Sri Lanka.

The extension has been implemented through Gazette Extraordinary No. 2490/06, issued on May 28, 2026, under the signature of the President’s Secretary, Dr. N. S. Kumarasinghe.

According to the gazette notification, this measure has been taken to ensure public security, maintain the normal functioning of the country, and guarantee the uninterrupted continuation of essential public services and supplies.
