Cabinet Approves Appointment of Controller General of Immigration and Emigration

The Cabinet has approved the appointment of a new Controller General of Immigration and Emigration, Cabinet Spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa announced.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held at the Government Information Department, he stated that approval had been granted for the appointment following a proposal submitted by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs.
Accordingly, Raj Saminda Pathiraja, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, has been appointed to the post. He had previously been serving in an acting capacity, following Cabinet approval granted on May 19, 2025.
The latest decision confirms his permanent appointment as the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.
