Health and Mass Media Minister Receives Blessings from Chief Incumbent of Kataragama Kirivehera Temple

Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, visited the historic Kataragama Kirivehera Rajamaha Viharaya to meet and receive blessings from the Chief Incumbent of the temple, Venerable Kobawaka Dhamminda Nayaka Thera, who also serves as the Chief Sanghanayake of Ruhunu Magampattuwa.

During the meeting, the Minister and the Chief Prelate exchanged views on the country’s current economic and social affairs, as well as ongoing developments and future plans within the healthcare sector.

The Nayaka Thera extended his blessings to the Minister and the accompanying delegation while offering guidance and advice.

Expressing his gratitude, Minister Jayatissa stated that the advice provided by the venerable monk, with due consideration to the social responsibility of the Buddhist clergy towards the welfare of the country and its people, would serve as a valuable source of strength for the government’s future initiatives.

Deputy Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development R.M. Jayawardena, Chairman of the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha H.N.D. Herath, and several other officials were also present at the occasion.
