ITAK Central Committee Meeting Begins in Vavuniya
The Central Committee meeting of Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) commenced today (17) at 10.30 a.m. at the party’s headquarters, “Thaayagam,” located in Kurumankadu, Vavuniya.
The meeting is being chaired by Acting Party Leader C. V. K. Sivagnanam.
Party Secretary M. A. Sumanthiran and Members of Parliament including S. Sritharan, Durai Ravikaran, Gnanamuthu Srinesan, K. Kodeeswaran, I. Sirinath and R. Shanakiyan Rasamanickam, along with other Central Committee members, are participating in the discussions.
According to party sources, the meeting is expected to focus on strengthening unity among Tamil political parties and discussing future political cooperation.
The committee is also expected to deliberate on proposals and recommendations submitted by the Tamil Lawyers’ Association regarding a new constitutional framework and possible political solutions.
Discussions may further include issues related to power sharing, political representation, and the future political direction of the Tamil community in Sri Lanka.
