The Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, which commemorates the Three Great Events of Buddhism, falls today (30).

The birth, enlightenment (Buddhahood), and passing away (Parinibbana) of Lord Buddha are believed to have occurred on a day such as today’s Vesak Poya Day. The Vesak Full Moon Day holds immense religious, cultural, and social significance for the people of Sri Lanka, marking several important milestones in Buddhist tradition.
