“Say No” Anti-Drug Walks Organized Across Districts for National Youth Day 2026

In line with the 2026 National Youth Day celebrations, a series of anti-drug awareness walks and youth rallies themed “Say No” were recently organized on May 23 across several districts in Sri Lanka.

The programs were aimed at raising awareness against narcotic drug use among youth and the wider community.

In Anuradhapura District, the youth rally and awareness walk organized by the District Youth Services Council commenced near the council premises and proceeded from the Twelfth Mile Post roundabout to the new bus stand.

A similar anti-drug rally organized by the Kegalle District Secretariat took place in Kegalle, beginning near the Kegalle Cultural Center.

In Matara, the awareness march started near the Nape Cultural Center roundabout and continued along the Galle–Matara main road before concluding near the Matara bus stand.

The anti-drug awareness rally and educational program organized for National Youth Day in Badulla District was centered around Bandarawela.

Meanwhile, the National Youth Services Council also organized a “Say No” youth march and anti-drug rally in Kandy with the aim of eliminating drug abuse from society.

Similar anti-drug awareness processions under the theme “Say No” were also held in Jaffna, Batticaloa, and Vavuniya.
