Islandwide Continuous Protests Demand Justice for Abuse Victim and Call for an End to Violence Against Women and Children

Continuous protests are being held across the country on May 27, 28, and 29 demanding justice in the child abuse case filed against the Chief Monk of the Eight Temples in Anuradhapura.

The demonstrations are also being carried out to call for an end to violence against women and children. The Women’s Movement for Freedom has called for these protests.

Accordingly, protests are scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday (29), in Mannar, Bandarawela, Polonnaruwa, Kegalle, Negombo, Chilaw, Batticaloa, Jaffna, Nuwara Eliya, Trincomalee, and Colombo Fort.
