Major General Nilantha Premaratne Appointed as the 69th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army

Major General Nilantha Premaratne of the Sri Lanka Artillery has been appointed as the 69th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.

According to a statement issued by Army Headquarters, the special senior-level appointment came into effect on Friday (29 May).

Major General Premaratne, who assumes one of the most important positions within the Army, is a highly experienced senior officer who has held a number of key command and administrative appointments throughout his military career.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen the operational and administrative functions of the Sri Lanka Army.
