Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Light showers are also expected in Anuradhapura District.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur after 1.00 p.m. in parts of the Uva Province and in the districts of Ampara and Batticaloa.

Fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph may occur at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North Central, North Western, and Southern provinces, as well as in Trincomalee District.

The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
