Ranaviru Remembrance Ceremony Held in Central Province, Kandy

The Central Province Ranaviru Remembrance Day ceremony (Memorial Day for fallen war heroes) was held near the Ranaviru Memorial Monument in Mailapitiya, Kandy, under the patronage of Governor Professor S.P.S. Abeykoon.

The event was conducted in line with the 17th National Ranaviru Remembrance Day.

During the ceremony, war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country, as well as disabled veterans, were remembered and honored.

Governor Professor Sarath Abeykoon laid floral tributes at the memorial. Subsequently, family members of fallen soldiers also paid their respects by offering floral tributes.

The event was jointly organized by the Central Provincial Council, the Governor’s Office, the Ranaviru Seva Authority, and other regional government institutions, and was held with multi-religious blessings.
