Sri Lankan Rupee Falls Sharply Against US Dollar

The value of the Sri Lankan Rupee has recorded another significant decline against the United States Dollar today (15).

According to the daily exchange rate report issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the buying rate of one US Dollar has been recorded at Rs. 323.53, while the selling rate has increased to Rs. 331.15.

This marks the first occasion since December 5, 2023, that the buying rate has exceeded Rs. 323 and the selling rate has crossed Rs. 331.

On December 5, 2023, the buying price of the US Dollar stood at Rs. 323, while the selling price was recorded at Rs. 333.20.

Accordingly, today’s exchange rate represents the highest recorded buying and selling values of the US Dollar in nearly two years since December 2023.
