Drivers Urged to Exercise Extreme Caution on Expressways Amid Adverse Weather

The Road Development Authority has issued an urgent appeal to motorists using expressways to drive with extreme caution due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

Officials stated that heavy rain, dense cloud cover, and fog have created visibility difficulties on several sections of expressways, making it hard for drivers to clearly see vehicles ahead.

Drivers have been requested to follow the following safety guidelines to avoid accidents on expressways:

• Drive with vehicle headlights switched on.
• Control vehicle speed according to weather conditions and, if necessary, travel at a speed of around 60 km/h.
• Maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front.
• Pay close attention to warnings displayed on electronic information boards installed along expressways.
• Avoid sudden braking, as roads become slippery during rainy weather and may increase the risk of accidents at high speeds.
