Special District Coordinating Committee Meeting in Matale Held Under Presidential Leadership

The Special District Coordinating Committee meeting for Matale District commenced this morning (12) at the Matale District Secretariat under the chairmanship of the President.

The meeting is focusing on several key national and regional matters, including compensation for deaths and property damage caused by Cyclone “Ditwah”, and measures taken to restore housing and normal livelihoods of affected people.

Discussions are also being held on the Matale urban development project and the progress of development initiatives implemented under the 2026 budget allocations.

In addition, the progress and future plans of the national anti-drug programme “One Country, One Force” are also being reviewed during the session.
