Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Appear Before Bribery Commission Today

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to appear before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning (12).
He is expected to provide a statement regarding allegations that a bribe of 2 million US dollars was received during the purchase of aircraft for SriLankan Airlines in 2013.
According to reports, the notice had been issued by the Bribery Commission requesting him to appear and record a statement in connection with the investigation.
Former Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne has also reportedly been instructed to appear before the commission regarding the same matter.
