Registration Opens for Vesak Dansal Operations Nationwide

The Public Health Inspectors’ Union has announced that registration for dansal (free food distribution stalls) organized for Vesak Poya has officially commenced.

Union President K.P. Boralessa stated that individuals or groups planning to organize a dansal must inform and register with the Public Health Inspector (PHI) responsible for their area.

Organizers are required to provide details regarding:

• The location of the dansal
• The type of food or service being offered

Following registration, PHIs will conduct awareness programs to guide organizers on maintaining proper hygiene and safety standards during operations.

Authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against those who conduct dansal activities without registration or fail to comply with health and safety regulations.
