Teacher Found Dead at Kalutara South Beach After Going Missing

The body of a 42-year-old school teacher, who had been reported missing after leaving her home in anger, was discovered at Kalutara South Beach a day later, according to police.
🔹 Identity of the Deceased
The deceased has been identified as Nadishani Tharangi Amaranyake (42), a teacher from Wediakoda, Bandaragama. She was a mother of one child. Her husband is also reported to be a school dance teacher.
🔹 Events Leading to the Incident
- On the 29th, the teacher attended a wedding ceremony organized at a school where she had previously taught.
- Her husband was unable to attend due to work commitments.
- This reportedly led to a disagreement between the couple.
- On the 30th, the husband attended a school-related event in Colombo.
- It is reported that the deceased had repeatedly asked him not to attend that event.
🔹 Disappearance
After a phone conversation with her husband on the same day, the teacher left home in anger.
Her son and mother reportedly followed her, but were unable to catch up with her.
It is further reported that she traveled away in a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk).
🔹 Police Investigation
- The husband returned home later and discovered that his wife was missing.
- He filed a complaint with Moragahahena Police around 12:40 a.m.
- A search operation was launched immediately.
🔹 Discovery of the Body
On the 1st, a female body was found at Kalutara South Beach during search operations.
🔹 Identification Confirmed
Following investigations, the deceased was confirmed to be the missing teacher by her husband and mother.
🔹 Ongoing Investigation
Police have launched further investigations to determine the exact cause of death.
