No Double Payments Made by Road Development Authority – Deputy Minister Clarifies

Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Prasanna Gunasena has firmly denied allegations of irregular payments by the Road Development Authority (RDA).

Speaking at a media briefing, he stated that no contractor or company has received duplicate payments from the RDA’s main account or any related accounts.

The clarification was issued in response to recent claims made by Nalin Bandara of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, who alleged that improper payments had been made by the authority.

The Deputy Minister further emphasized that:

• The payment procedures remain unchanged
• No irregularities have occurred in financial transactions

He strongly rejected the allegations, stating that the claims are completely false and misleading.
